Good to hear! Do you find it difficult to hold the camera with the 40 attached? Seems like it's sooooo small that it may be awkward?

SVTmaniac wrote in post #15410894 (external link)
No not at all, the 6D is smaller than my 7D and with the Pancake lens attached it's almost like a full size point and shoot. I really love the combo and I think the little 40mm lens is the best bang for the buck on the market right now.

You guys are funny! I put the 40mm Pankcake on my Rebel XTi (400D) and that is a tiny combo - the 6D by comparison is like Big Brother.

That being said, of course it is still the smallest "big" DSLR out there. When I was in Chicago a couple of weeks ago, the 6D with 40mm Pancake fit in one of my coat pockets while I went out to dinner and walking about the town.

Overall the size of this lens coupled with 6D makes it easier to "take it with you" on more occasions.

I just thought it was funny and one of these days I'll have to post some side by side photos of just how much smaller my 400D is sitting next to the 6D - both will of course have the 40mm mounted so it'll be on topic for this thread.

Loving the looks of this lens. Do you think its worth getting for a 450d? Currently have a nifty fifty.

It really depends on the quality of your 50/1.8. Mine was flakey on AF - the 40/2.8 is not. As said by others, it's small and comfortable and reliable ... but it obviously needs slightly more light than a f/1.8

The color from this lens is fantastic. Super minimal tweaks in CS5. Took a half-day and went on a nature walk. :)

I have the 50 mk1 and the pancake. I've only have the 40 for a few days but I believe I'll be using it more than the 50mm.

I keep putting this in my Amazon cart but I am resisting for now, it's tough though, this looks like such a great lens.

Just buy it. The only reason not to have this lens is if $150 would seriously impact your budget. It's excellent really, image quality far above its price-point.
