What gears should I bring? This is my first time cruising with dslr camera and having a hard time what stuff should I bring. Please see my sig for my stuff. And should I bring my Tamrac bag or put my lens in their respective bag and pack it in a suitcase? Our ports of call are Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan and Costa Maya.

Thanks

I am thinking of bringing the 300mm and leave the 18-200 and 50mm.

Thanks I guess I will bring them all accept for the 18-55mm. 18-200 is my walk around lens plus this is my wife fave (she is not into photography) but if you are married you know what I mean he he. The 300mm I am bringing it I might regret not bringing it since we booked off shore tours like the Belize zoo.
And to the ruins, 10-22mm and my tripod think it is a must, I am going to use it for indoor taking pictures of the ship in different areas.

These stuffs are heavy I am just trying to get an idea what to bring to lighten up the weight.

Thanks

Thanks I have the rs-7 black rapid. I don't plan on bringing my camera bag off shore, my plan is to put my lens inside their case and just put it in my regular backpack. I don't want to be walking with my bulky Tarmac camera bag while doing the off shore tour.

I went to those same islands last year. On a cruise too.
You will need the 10-20 for general use and things like the mayan ruins, the 70-200 for more reach, the 50 for portraits, and the flash. The 300 might be too much weight and wont get much use. You might see a monkey, but by the time you put the lens in it will be gone.

It will be hot!!
You will not have much time off shore
Once you get off the boat, there will be people offering tours. Haggle them. We got great tours for cheap. In Roatan we got private tour. Guy was awesome.

Thanks. I really appreciate it. The 300mm is the most recent I acquired so it's kind of hard not to bring it since I am still kind of getting used to it. I agree for the 10-22 and the 50 good point overall I might just leave the 300mm than. We are excited. Thanks for your tip.

The 300mm would be an ideal lens for the Belize Zoo. Would enable you to get some nice semi close ups of some of the unique species I'm sure they have there...jaguars, toucans etc. Plus telephoto lenses give a nice "different" perspective of landscape shots. Great to isolate subjects.

Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever! ;)

Make sure to have a separate insurance for your gear! No telling what these cruise employees might want to do

Thanks that is what I am thinking too. Brought my 300mm to a local zoo here in Seattle I've got some nice portrait of an owl and eagle. So I don't know I think I am just going to bring it, I will just keep them in their case and just put it in my regular backpack. Thanks
