I looked for an Owls only thread and couldn't find one so here is a place to show off your shots of Owls..old, new, classic, in flight, perches, young and old....

I will start it off with an Eastern Screech Owl I have been photographing off and on for the last little while...:D

Very nice Gary. I have not yet been able to photograph one in the wild. But I'm still looking! :)

The only Owls I've been able to photograph are rehabilited Owls that were released back into the wild. I do know of a Great Horned Owls nest but they seem to perch about 80'-90' up in Pine trees and I refuse to photograph something so small at such a steep angle.

Eastern Screech Owl about to be released.

I attended the release of 6 young Barn Owls over the winter...an amazing bird to see up close.

This is the lady that rehabilitated the Owls and other wildlife. She was happy with this image and it was used in a local paper when they did a story about the release and the rehabilitator.

I think this is the lady that brought the 6 homeless Owls to the rehabilitator.

Wow...great shots and thats 9 species on one page:-) The Barn Owl and Burrowing Owl are two I have not yet seen. Harvey.,,great work....I have to get back to Presque'ile...saw two Barred Owls within 100 yards of one another there...a fantastic day. I am now nostalgic for Great Grays and NHO as its been three years since I have seen a GGO and one year for the Hawk Owl....but its still too early to be looking forward to Winter;)

Here is species #10...Northern Sawhwet Owl...8.5 inches tall

All great shots on here. Like Grizz, I cannot contribute to this thread as I've never been able to photgraph an owl. Maybe this will kick-start things!
