Hi Rick!

Saw some textured images on 500px that I really liked and started reading/watching stuff on youtube. Been learning from videos such as this http://www.youtube.com …_dnTzLJjA&feature=related (external link). These were all done on my brother-in-law's laptop (badass Alienware) where he has CS5 and some plugin (the name escapes me .. Photo Suite?) that had these cool, ripped frames .. alas, he came back from vacation and the laptop had to go back :(

Also found this last week .. http://www.cgtextures.com; looks promising.

This is really time consuming and the files can get upto a GB while editing! I need to upgrade my POS :)

I agree with the above comments about #2, it's very nice. The other two, I quite like the main part but I am put off by the splatter effect in #1, it looks like you never clean your sensor. What do you feel it adds to the image? Also the border on #3 doesn't really suit it, to my eyes.

The impression those two give me, is that you took an image that hadn't really worked and threw some random effects at it to try and make it stand out. Such effects can really add to an image, but they need to be used for a good reason and too many people just add them without first asking themselves "why am I doing this, what does it add to this image"?
