Interesting reading Jay. I notice Photobucket is still way ahead of Flickr for storage. Also of note is the rise of the phone for taking photographs. Here everybody is moving that way & I have just brought my first point and shoot in years haha I always did like to go against the latest trends..............

Jay, the numbers and rate of change in that link are absolutely astounding.

Wow this just gives a whole new perspective. I've never been a fan of cell phone cameras but I'm pretty impressed by how far they've come. This whole social media empire is really taking over.

Its all about convenience. People will use what easy to use. Bunch of lazy people in this country, always taking the path of least resistance. They dont care about quality, they dont care to be anything more than ignorant, as long as its easy to do. Sad really. But, such is life I suppose. Phone Camera's FTW!

I agree with the convenience more than I would the laziness. Sometimes it just isn't feasible to haul your camera gear where you're going, but you are taking your phone and it does have a camera. When something important happens you can capture that memory.

When they want high quality images, they hire a professional.

Different people have different priorities at what they consider to be important to learn and spend money on. If everyone wanted to spend money and time on photography, there wouldn't be as much money spent on aviation or automobiles (the list is endless) reducing our photographic opportunities.

I believe most of those photos are mine....

Also a reason why people think funny looking icons are better than text... Today's Wi-Fi icon is infrared....
And why does a triangle mean play? etc....

But you hit the nail on the head. People don't care about quality at all...
