Took my T4i to Hungary over the holidays (visiting family). I almost always travel with a Rebel instead of my 7D (weight and bulk issue).
Here are some photos I took just outside my parents' small town in central Hungary (using either a Tamron 18-270 VC or a Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS with or without extenders)

We got a dusting of snow this morning, so the girls broke out their sleds...

Thank you guys.
When I saw that Canon was coming out with the T4i, I thought it was just another Rebel with minor tweaks. I had a T3i at the time (which my fiancee ended up buying at a good price after I got my T4i) :)

When I saw the specs of the T4i, a couple of major (to me at least) upgrades sold me on the new Rebel, namely the 9 cross type sensors (basically the 60D's AF system), new shutter mechanism with 5 fps and a much more mature shutter sound, and - may sound surprising - the return of infra sensor that turns off the LCD :)
Of course other features such as multi shot NR and HDR are cool too, as well as the upgraded video features.

As usual, I had researched the heck out the T4i. The biggest "negative" people and some tests were mentioning was the marginally higher level of high ISO noise compared to the T3i (and the fellow 18mp sensor Canons). Well, I compared it to my T3i, noise levels are virtually the same in RAW, and the T4i actually looks a tiny bit better in out of camera Jpegs (due to the better in-camera jpeg NR). My 7D is a little bit better at high ISO noise levels, but the difference is so little, that it could just be sample variation (because technically my T3i should be a bit better than the T4i too but it isn't).

Anyway, enough of the technical mumbo-jumbo, here are some more images from my trip to Hungary (last one has been processed a little more than usual):

Gabe - once again you have posted a superb series. The icy trees and the Coal Tit shots are exquisite! The bokeh on the bird shots are fabulous! Thanks again for sharing your photos and your technical thoughts.

JasonMK - Great shots in the bright snow. Looks like the young ones enjoyed it!

I have the T4i and am pleased with it. I'm using a 100-400mm for wildlife, and I'm always reaching for more.. I'm considering a 2x extender or the 1.4. I'm not too concerned about losing auto focus, but I need some opinions ...should I buy one of theses? will they work?
