Is this forum just for wedding photographers, or can I jump in with some shots taken at my sisters wedding?

What with helping out and looking after family I sort of got stuck with just the 85mm f1.8 for the day! All good fun though (:

Great pictures! I love when guests take pictures like this because it "fills in the blanks" for the bride and groom a bit since the hired photog is usually getting all the "essential" requirements and not able always to see/capture these moment. And it doesn't seem to me like you got in the pros way at all so you captured these moments while still being respectful. Props. They are great pictures, too!

A few of these would be fabulous shots even for the main photographer. Nice work.

That was exactly my thought when I looked at these. These are some great shots, period, much less that you were not the "official" photographer and just had to work from the sidelines, so to speak.

I am attending a wedding this weekend (family member, not as photographer) and these shots encouraged me to take my kit and shoot while I am there. Thanks for posting them.

Cheers all :)

I have also shot a couple of weddings as a second shooter. I'm shooting a friends wedding in December so trying to get as much experience as possible! I stay out of the pro's way when shooting as a guest, they didn't hang around long at this wedding though. Straight off after the cake was cut during the wedding breakfast.

A few more:

The main area I want to work on is using a flash. The room in the evening had a 30ft+ ceiling so no chance of bouncing!
