hi I'm about to buy a couple of sets of nimh rechargeables. at the moment i have one set of 1100 mAh, i am looking to get larger capacity sets ie 2500 mAh's. will these be ok to charge in the charger i got with the old batteries, or do i need a new charger.. the charger states...(1.4v--250mA 0.35va)

I'd strongly recommend getting a new charger. The charger is as important as the cells themselves, an old charger has old technology which might not suit the newer, high capacity chemistries.

I got Power-2000 brand batteries from B&H, they work great. A slower charger is actually better for the batteries. Maha from http://thomasdistributing.com (external link) have a reputation as the best in the industry.
