But stepping back to take a photo with a 50mm lens is not going to be the same end result as if you used 20mm focal length. Different field of views help record different perspectives and will have different characteristics. Wide angle lenses are story telling lenses. 50mm lens are rather snap shotty lenses.

That is true. I'm going to try to get both lenses for the price range then.

If you are talking 300-400, you will have way more better choices.
85 1.8, 50 1.4, siggy 30 1.4

I'm going to try to get Both Lenses, I looked on ebay, they have the 18-55mm for $60. But i don't know if its reliable enough. I'm a little itchy about buying Used lenses.

Make sure it says it is the IS or IMage stabilizer version. not only does it get the benefit of stabilization, it is much sharper.
