I guess I would check that the top and bottom "2012-6" folders have the same exact path all the way down to the root. They may only be partially the same (only the first few levels are the same). If the both folders have identical paths, then this could be a bug in Lr4. They have been a number of bugs that creep into the latest version.

Yeah. The path is the same; that's what confuses me so much.

So you are saying that, if you right click either folder, then choose "Show in Finder", Finder shows you the same folder in both cases? That's the one in "Originals"?

Sounds like a bug.

What happens if you right click the "duplicate" folder, then choose "Show parent folder"?

The parent folder of the 'duplicate' is the 2012 folder. If I try to show the parent folder of that folder, I get an error. WEIRD!

Could it have anything to do with the catalog settings maybe?

I did a google on "import to two folders in lr4". Here's a link that might be helpful, though the user is a windows user:

Hmm, the link didn't work for me either, but a search for "import to two folders in lr4" did produce results:

Here. Trying again with the link. This looks the same but this should now be a real link without the "...". You can mouse over to see the link.
