I have alot of 8GB cards that i normally use in my 5D Mark II. I was wondering how many shots (sRaw) do you get when using 5D Mark III at ISO100 on 8GB cards and 16GB cards.

If you put the cards in the camera it should tell you how many shots you have left to take to fill the card, and the number increases when the file size is lowered 5D3 | 7D | 85L II | 70-300L | 24-105L | Nifty Fifty | 600EX-RT_______________

SD cards are mega cheap, 32GB (not the fastest cards but good enough for video recording) for around $25.hmmm, not a bad idea using the SD cards for video recording only. srika wrote in post #14608765 producing cleaner / less noisier files, I would not be surprised if you're able to store MORE with 5D3... harcosparky wrote in post #14608847 If your spending $3500 for the camera, tossing in a 16GB or 32GB card should be painless. FWIW I used 16GB with my 7D and 5D2, never shot anything except full resolution RAW images. maybe one or two 16GB or 32GB is fine. but another dozen or half dozen - nah! johnlo photography :

Jun 20, 2012 21:21 | #12 I use 8GB CF cards just aboute exclusively. If a card goes bad, I don't want to lose the whole batch of photos. It's rare, but why risk it? It would happen the one time I really didn't need it to happen, so I just remove the possibility. http://emjfotografi.com/
