If you are interested in headshots, Peter Hurley is the guru and explains all in this video:

Since you allow editing, I tried to condense what I learned from Peter Hurley in this edit:

hooslava - Is that a panorama? What zoom did you use to get a flat image like that? I tried a panorama one time and it turned up like a fisheye.

Nice! depending on the time of day, the 70-200 is great for moon shots. Some of my favorites are taken with it!

Would you please expand on that? I took mine around 6pm after I was done shooting in the park. "Hey there's the moon; let's see how far this thing will zoom on it" was about as much thought that I put into my moonshot. :)

Grab a tripod and this is what you can get with a 60D + 70-200F4

Thanks Gerry,
Yeah, I've seen some of Hurley's videos, I even think for that shot I asked her to push her head forward.

I have to admit, my immediate (defensive) reaction to your edit was that now it looks like an attempt to copy Peter Hurley - But it's just plain more effective.
The solid white makes for a much cleaner negative space, and the cropping breaks it up directing the viewer more strongly towards the subject.
Thanks, again.

The moon has been out as early as 2pm recently around here. Its generally alot lower in the sky around that time which allows for alot less cropping. Took this one with my 70-200 non-IS handheld last May. Later in the day, but the days were already alot longer:

See below for exif... one thing that improved how my panos were stitched if i was off tripod was to make sure when i rotated i moved around the camera. Imagine a line perpendicular to the ground that goes from your lens straight down and move around it instead of rotating your body. aka pretend your camera is attached to a tripod.

see the picture in this article if you can't picture it. http://reallyrightstuff.com/websiteinfo.aspx?fc=108 (external link)

Bingo, I orig tried to do a handheld HDR so i wanted a piece of the foreground in, but that didn't work out so i just cropped it out.

Was shot with my 50 1.4 at 5.6, 1/2000, iso 100 focusing on the guard towers and recomposing.

You should definitely plan to do more of these - this is fantastic man! Really like that it's not just a silhouette as you captured some nice subtle light reflecting off the small items between the lifeguard towers. Great shot!
