You should definitely plan to do more of these - this is fantastic man! Really like that it's not just a silhouette as you captured some nice subtle light reflecting off the small items between the lifeguard towers. Great shot!

I agree. I also love the different groups of people in the foreground. Really adds to the shot.

My try at a silhouette type sunset.

Thanks Gerry,
Yeah, I've seen some of Hurley's videos, I even think for that shot I asked her to push her head forward.

I have to admit, my immediate (defensive) reaction to your edit was that now it looks like an attempt to copy Peter Hurley - But it's just plain more effective.
The solid white makes for a much cleaner negative space, and the cropping breaks it up directing the viewer more strongly towards the subject.
Thanks, again.

I'd love to hear somebody say that one of my headshots looks like Peter Hurley's. The cropping of the top of the head allows the rule of thirds to work and that is another reason why it is so pleasant a composition.

Dan! Grrreat photos! :D

Thanks guys. Def makes it worth it to lug the camera around everywhere when I can get a couple shots like this.

Now if it'd only stay light a bit longer so I could supplement my 365 better during the work week.
