Today was the first time I've seen blue sky in 2013! Sadly I could only go only get about on foot and with the dog on a leash. Time was limited by how cold it was for my dogs feet.

Guys,

For the benefit of the diffuser users, i'm sharing my conclusion on this whole diffuser thing.

1. For outdoors where there's no wall, i'm going to use the Demb because it acts like a wall. I have two of them so i can setup 2 walls outdoor.

2. for indoor here's what i came up with.

inspired by Peter Gregg's black eye shield... I'll be bouncing off the wall or ceiling without blinding every person in the room.

Here's what I have.... a $1.00 from walmart. A can coolie. It's main purpose is to keep your can drinks cool. It has bottom I just cut it out.

test shots. Exactly the same setting with and without flash. Flash was tilted 2 clicks behind me. distance from subject is about 3 feet.

ISO400 F2.2 SS 1/160 Notice there's no harsh shadow and it still lit the subject pretty well. And there's no specular lights.
