Click on it in post and it should set it.

True but he stated the follow-up image was SOOC.

Here's a shot with the old version of the 100USM. I found it used for $175 and thought I got a scraming deal on the USM version, but after taking it home and realizing what I had I thought the lady had pulled a fast on me. I just hadn't researched well enough to know about the older version, but after using it and knowing I paid about a quarter of the L price I'm happy. After realizing what I had and doing some research, I found that a lot of people compare this to the L series.

Dr D; I've got the non-L version and love it. On the 60D, it is a fantastic portrait lens.

I wanna try that too. I think I saw YouTube videos doing that. Thanks.

It definitely works. I always used a 'digital target' by Ed Pierce/Photovision to set my WB but had my subjects hold a gray card and then in those rare instances where correction was needed, using LR I simply clicked the card and then synced all the shots to that one.

True but he stated the follow-up image was SOOC.

it was SOOC. Coincidence or not i'm not sure but i did this before already. i just post it up again for the beginners here to explore custom white balance.

You don't have to zoom in to fill your viewfinder with the gray card. It measures the center spot and works well.

I'm planning to make a video tutorial for this.

One is using Auto White Balance and then Custom white balance using my way of doing it.

The good thing about doing it in your camera is when you wanna show the picture in your camera LCD to your model. The color is close or perfect already.

I don't like saying "Don't worry about the color, i will fix it in post."

AMEN ! to that. We have toooooo many photogs today who rely on post to fix bad images. My feeling is that if you have to 'fix' a large portion of your images in post, then you need to go back to 'photography 101' and learn the basics of posing/lighting/exposure. There are always exceptions but for the most part, post should be used to enhance an already good image and turn it into a great image.

I went out on the bike for a while today and it was miserable. And when you stopped at a light, it was unbearable with the heat from from the bike and the street rising up to meet you. Hopefully we'll get a cold wave soon and see the temps back down in the low 90's...hehehe

That is exactly what I am doing now - watching that blinking light. They delivered the camera about 12:30 so soon as it is charged I will check it out and make sure it works. The camera itself, out of the box, looks brand new - not a mark on it.

The battery was finally charged and first thing I did was EosCount -- 51 clicks... This camera does not have a mark on it. Put a 32 Sandisk Extreme Class 10 45mb/s card in it. Play around with different things and really love the camera. Here is a picture of my little girl Samantha sleeping beside as I played with the new "toy" This was taken with the 50mm 1.8 with onboard flash.

I totally agree. The essence of true photography is slowly fading away. More and more people make the picture looks stunning in post.

I will try to experiment again tonight about my way of color balancing. I could be wrong. Still learning.

Can i use your line to enlighten some of my photographer friends who i consider doing Photographics instead of photography?

this is really good.

+2 on that one Alex...

Nice usage of the sun. Did you use reflector at least?
