My father just got his D800e, and I must say that Canon cameras have a much better design- the viewfinder on the D800e is darker, there are too many buttons, which make is uncomfortable, and it's very heavy. The only good thing is the lens, which has an incredibly silent autofocus motor, but the AF system on the camera is pretty annoying compared to EOS.

I've had my 60D for about 2 years now. I can't imagine getting anything else.

I can move mine slightly (probably 0.5-1mm) turning it right/left but up and down it is tight.

Just tried it. It does also rock up and down a bit if you hold it really tight and force it to rock, but why would anyone do that on purpose? I did it once and will never do it again. I think it would only loosen the mode dial over time. I certainly never noticed it after almost two years of 60D ownership with over 30K actuations

Recently picked up the Canon shorty forty, hurray for BestBuy rewards! Liking this little lens so far. Here's a few of my better half ;), only played with the curves since it was a very overcast day.

Coming up on 2yrs for me, as well. I will never part with it. Great shots, Glazier. Couple of recents since I haven't posted to this thread in so long:

Welcome aboard! My 60D was an upgrade from a G5 and I'm still a bit overwhelmed by it sometimes. I think you'll find it to be an amazingly capable camera and you'll soon be addicted to the swivel-flippy LCD. :D

Speaking of addicted, I heard about a fellow today that was addicted to brake fluid. But he said he could stop any time! :p

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.
