Good idea! I love doing HDR to get hidden details out of a shot.
Thats the F. Scott Key bridge, right? What was your vantage point?

Yes,you are correct in the bridge. On the east end of the bridge there is a park,Fort Armisted. Toll road goes to the left, but if you continue straight road dumps out to the park. Excellent view of the bridge span. Thats the east end - the west end is the toll facilities. Theres a company,ALCOA,I want to access to get a different angle of the span. High security tho I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.

A suggestion, if I may, my large print printing shop offer to post-process your jpeg for a small fee (under $10 IIR). I'd recommend taking the service if you can review the results before printing large. I have to confess that I never used this service, but normally, ALL my prints are post-processed by me in a certain way and it is intentional, so I prefer to take the risk of not being perfect. If they offer a chance to review their corrected jpeg, $10 is a minute amount compared to the cost of a mounted 24x36 for instance... (I had a mild HDR photo processed in a specific manner, printed on pearl paper and mounted in the back of a plexiglass sheet (glued), then the whole thing got a 1/16 black backing material and glued on hanging cleats. The result is astounding, because you get the liquid quality of a metallic paper print combined with the depth of 3/8 thick plexiglass providing added depth. It cost north of $300...). Wowzers! Thats some serious loot. I had better have a super nice image to invest in if Im going to spend that kind of money (or atleast have some buyers lined up). I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.

For sure, before I push forward with the printing process I will get all details and make sure it is exactly what I want. There are less expensive processes to mount a photo with similar results. It's just that I love this photo so much, I was willing to bite the bullet. Gerry

Does anyone know if the blades stay at a fixed aperture for high speed shooting or do they cycle open and closed for each exposure? ptcanon3ti wrote in post #16546604 ^ I'm not an engineer, but I would think the aperture blades would stay where it's set. The shutter moves. They Cycle Each Shot. The lens always returns to WIDE OPEN and comes into whatever aperture setting when the shot is actually taken. That is so you can see clearly through the viewfinder. It is also why you have the "Depth of Field" button on the front of the camera alongside the lens. It closes the aperture to the particular setting so you can get an idea of the depth of field BUT it can be too dark to see clearly enough. Rick.

It's just that I love this photo so much, I was willing to bite the bullet. For example, I priced 5 photos at 12x18 mounted on plexiglass and it came to about $820 or $164/photo. I opted for a print on metallic paper and sprayed on protection for 4 photos and I got them (on the Internet) for $25.50/photo. If/when you are ready to print, ask for recommendations on printing shops and you can choose. Mine is not the cheapest online, but I trust their results and the overall process. I guess the price surprised me simply becuse I get my pics done at Wal Greens,5X7..just a simple print. I believe I have a lot of really nice photos, and I suppose if I had something that really grabbed my eyes and really spoke to me,I would likely bite the bullet and have it done up really nice - frame, matting, the whole works. When I snap that shot I will reopen this idea and and get ideas and suggestions I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.

I think you can frame what you've got with some post-processing, but if you can go back, try many different views. At $25 a pop, you can do a few different renditions (I have a project like that in mind with the Triboro bridge in NYC see below). BlueDemon wrote in post #16547963 Where did you get it printed from?
