Well, perfect lighting and color rendition !

How does the Canon 50mm 1.4 coupled to the 60d perform? I am considering the 50 1.4 and would love to see some examples here, and opinions from those who have the combination. thanks

This confuses me. Wouldn't cropping a shot taken with a 5D @400 be the same as a non-cropped shot taken with 60D @400 with the same lens?
Or would there be significant quality loss?

I understand you get a "closer image, but isn't that really just cropping inside the camera since the sensor is smaller?
I'm thinking that the image being transferred to the back of the camera by the lens is the same size in both cameras. The 5D grabs a larger area of this image (35.8 x 23.9 mm) and the 60D a smaller area (22.3 × 14.9 mm).
I don't have a 5D to compare, but it seems to me that cropping the 5d shot in post would give you the same result. It would require a little work, but it would leave you the option of keeping the wider original.

But if you crop from the 5D original to the same field of view, do you end up with an 18MP or larger image?
