lewem1107 Senior Member More info | Dec 16, 2014 20:59 | #6723 So I'm going on vacation to my sisters in Williamsburg, Va for Christmas week and I was trying to decide on a rental to bring, either the 15-85 or the 17-55. Planning on a trip to the beach for sunrise and Busch Gardens at night for Christmas town. Other than that just general family pics. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

lewem1107 Senior Member More info | Thanks for the response. I've used the 17-55 before but have heard a lot about the 15-85 so I thought, maybe I'd give it a try but the more I think about it, the more I lean towards the 17-55. Should be a fun trip.

I do not know where you are renting from... But if you do not need the f2.8 for stopping action or the 17mm wide end, maybe consider the 24-105L... Lensrentals has a deal going on right now (I have never rented lenses before, but I read Rogers blog and appreciate his perspective on photography equipment). One thing I learned quickly is that full frame lenses are far better than EFS lenses. 5D MKII | 60D | 35 2.0 IS | 50 1.4 | 85 1.8 | 100L | 24-105L | 70-300L | 580EXII

My personal opinion. I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.

Jan 02, 2015 08:28 | #6728 Bad news, after only a month of ownership the SD card slot on my 60 broke. Fortunately I can still use the camera and it only errors out sometimes but its only a matter of time before it wont let me take photos. Is there a known fix for a broken lock spring or am I looking at service? If so any ideas what the repair would cost, thanks! http://dopelahomacity.tumblr.com/

Did you buy the 60D new or used? If it is new it will of course be under warranty. Charles

BurnUnit Senior Member More info | Jan 09, 2015 21:20 | #6734 Just got an email from Canon Price Watch that the refurbished EFs 10-18 f/4.5-5.6 IS STM is back in stock at the Canon Store. $239.99 plus a $10 discount for purchases over $100 plus FREE FedEx ground shipping. Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.
