Thank you! In my mind I was 'thinking' the reason the Canon 10-18 was cheaper was because the quality may not be near as good. But if what you say is correct, I will save some $$$ to buy the Canon and not lose in quality of photos.
From what I've read, the quality of the 10-18 is very good, as is with all 'new generation' APS-C STM lenses. At least resolution-wise.
In addition, I've heard good things about flare handling. This is important because for Ultra-wide lenses, you have nowhere to hide.
Handling filters may be important too, a polarizing filter is a must for a lot of landscape photos.
