Assuming that this appears with any lens attached and is in fact dust on the sensor...

The 60D has some bult in software for dust spot mapping that may just be able to fix this in-camera. I've not had a reason to try this myself yet and I haven't seen it mentioned in this forum.

Therefore, I think it's your duty as a member to do a bit of experimentation and report back to us here as to whether it really works or not. ;)

Actually the dust delete data is appended to only the RAW files and you have to use DPP to use it and remove the dust spot.

Wow, I haven't been in this thread for a while. Lots of great shots!

Here are a couple from the past month.

These are beautiful! I'm considering the 60D as an upgrade for my xTi for mostly landscape and travel shots.

Is it worth to upgrade to a 60D from a 40D?

Basically I bought a 40D with some 'issues' so I'm looking to buy 'new/refurb' and the 60D is in my price range through the CLP. Video is nice, but not needed. Looking to get up to '2nd shooter' quality for weddings.

I can tell you the ISO performance will be better than the 40d with along other things but that alone was enough for me to upgrade from a rebel series.

Welcome to POTN!

When in your Flickr account, click on the photo you want to show here.
When you see the individual image, look right above the photo to find Actions and Share with other icons in-between.
Click on Share then click on Grab the HTML/BBC code

Now you will see Copy and Paste the Code below:

Single click inside the code area, copy that code (CTRL-C) then paste the code into the text window here at POTN (CTRL_V)
