Thanks!

Here's a shot of my trusty assistant for the past 2 years:

And it'll continue to serve til the day it dies! I've got a mark I version of it and I think it's a great little gem.

Sorry, no surfing or concert pictures. My big exciting photo excursion for the weekend was a trip to the Antique Tractor and Engine Show!

First off, a little something for you left-coasters and right-coasters and your fancy VWs and Nissans and Audis. Here in the midwest, THIS is how we roll! Think about checking out your local Minneapolis-Moline dealer.

A working blacksmith shop. I should have cropped this better in the viewfinder but I love being able to shoot at higher ISOs like this with the 60D.

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v147/tunamelt/POTN%20Canon/Tractor106.jpg

Don't have a macro lens to shoot those cool insect and spider shots, but this kind of looks like some sort of alien creature.

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

Love this shot! What'd you use for the flash?

Some Canon gear. Some flash gear.. a little bit of magic.

For anyone wondering...yes I'm still alive! Ha Now that my seasons are starting back up it is time for me to get back into the swing of things. Football starts next weekend and I have 8 games on my schedule. Also got my credentials back for NHL and will be trying to get all games in Raleigh and a couple of away games if I can swing it.

On the plate as far as new gear will be probably another 60D and a 17-55 F/2.8 to hold me over for a while. Want the 7D but figure I would rather have some extra cash and 2 60D's cause I love it that much!

Anyways, I'll be around more often now!

I purchased a new 60D about 2 weeks ago. I feel I can't take a good photo but I am really trying. My biggest issue is with fine focus but I am assuming this is part of the learning curve

A few parting shots from the tractor show...

Look! Ducks!!! Does it count if they're decoys? ???

And finally, something that deserved a little post processing.
