couple of bee shots

still getting to grips with the "in flight" shot......both shot at 1/1000, the in flight was f5.6 iso 400 & the first one was iso 200 f4.5

#2 is great! Shooting bees are a pain in the rump! Especially when they are in flight. Are you using manual focus or AF?

I have been getting better luck with manual. What lens are you using?

C&C is pretty minor. #1 (IMHO) isn't really a great shot. I like the flower in the background, but the dead petal is drawing my eye more than the bee. And a bee ON a flower isn't too challenging!;)

The second shot is much better with the bee in flight. Minor quibble would be the green stalk in the foreground. And the bee is slightly OOF, but not enough to distract from the image.

But I can appreciate the difficulty, and thank you for posting them!

thanks CM.......the lens used was a stock 18-70mm for my sony a200 (dont stone me please lolol) and was shot in manual, as you have said they are a pain in the backside to shoot always being on the move and all that so i have to be happy with the shots im getting at the moment, more thought to composition will be written on my gravestone....lolol

I don't worry so much about what are people are shooting with!

You ought to look at some of my bee shots. Curious as to your thoughts on them.

Maybe if I can train a few I'd have better luck!:lol:
