O.K. so.... I have bird feeders right outside my comp room window. All kinds, come all day. ( and night see my post Huge bird at feeder ) I've seen so many wonderful shots posted here, so I thought I'd give it a try. I have a new appreciation for what I've seen here. These guys don't pose, won't stay still, and if you see it in the view finder...sorry..too late!!
I'm not giving up until I get that tack sharp wow shot, if I have to shoot 10k !!!
20D, 70-200 L 2.8 ( and more work to get it right )

These are pretty good for your first shots! Mine certainly didn't look this good. All it takes is practice - lots of it! Birds are not an easy subject to shoot, keep trying though!

These are very good for your first tries.
In my mind I have developed a little mantra for successful bird photography, in order of priority :

(1) Good light
(2) Proximity to the bird
(3) Exposure
(4) Minimize camera shake
(5) Focus placement
(6) Sufficient DoF.

Right....easier said than done:D

Obviously, all of the above is for naught unless you find that right bird within the reach of your lens.;)
