wide angleadapter

just been looking at a wide angle macro adapter.
it screws on to front of lens and give a viewing area of 12mm the macro is also very good. doesnt loose any light as well
any body used them and are they any good . looked ok when i tried it.
its 80 pounds make is sher

They're only as good as the lens maker. They work by altering the optical properties of the compound lens. Generally wide angle adapters have barrel distortion and chromatic aberrations galore around the edges. Sure, they're cheap, but that's what you get, cheap. For macro, it'll just work like a regular close-up lens. IIRC, you remove one element from the WA bundle and use that alone as the close-up lens.

Any adapter/converter that you put on the front of a lens isn't going to be very good. They are usually used as a last resort on cameras with fixed lenses. You have an SLR, get another lens to do what you need.
