So these are a few more candid shots from the beach. They are processed using Lightroom 4 only. I shot them at 200mm (70-200 f4 L) f16 & f8 (to preserve sharpness at that distance) w/ shutter speeds ranging from 1/200 - 1/2000 (IIRC). Anyway, this girl was just over a football field away (maybe 120 yards) so these images have been cropped a good bit. To bring them back I processed fairly heavily...I'm happy with how they came out and might print a selected few. I'd be interested in getting some feedback on what others think of these. THanks for looking!

Ill try and get a few of the originals uploaded, if anyone might be interested in doing some of their own edits...

Here are two of the O.G. images (forgot to add that it was a bit stormy and VERY overcast, not the greatest light...)

It's a dramatic setting. Too bad you couldn't get closer. As it is, her portion is too small to add to the drama of the image. Since she's oriented to the left, the shots where you have her centered or on the left are weaker from a composition point of view.

The last two are underexposed because they are Unedited. I included those two images just incase someone on the forum wanted to take a shot at editing them...

It was a bummer I couldn't get closer, but it was all water/ocean from where I was standing to where she was sitting. I was watching this scene for a while before I started shooting and thought it would make a cool image...

pic 4 - Best one for me. My eyes gets drawn to the girl right away. I would have cropped in more. Moving her closer and a little bit to the left. Probably cut the seaweeds on the lower right. My eyes is going to the girl and the sea weeds. I would cut that and focus on the girl. :)

I love the second pic. But, as sad as it will sound - lose the girl.

really good composition, but in my opinion you did not need the girl, also some tweaking in P/S or similar would make the images better.

I'm actually totally fine with the girl being so small. A fragile human being in the middle of all that fury and chaos is sort of making for a powerful image, and I think it's totally valid to portray the person as only a very tiny part in all of that. That's actually what makes these images so interesting to me. However, these images are too small. These should be printed and printed big.

As far as composition, it looks like peoples' answers are all over the place. Personally I prefer #3. That big monstrous wave on the left adds a lot of impact to the image, and I like how the waves on the right and left are sort of almost framing the girl.
