Each of their photographers turns in about 11,000 exposures of the game."

I'm no expert on the game but doesn't that equate to 3 shots/second for the duration of play?

You're being way too logical here...

There's some very interesting sights to catch during the commercial breaks ;)

True, only because I worked on them daily, and decided that I prefer the PC experience. I think Macs are great, really, I just prefer PCs. Clearly there are differences, and you surely realize that not all of them go into the "win" column for Mac. For many of the same reasons, I prefer my Android to my wife's iPhone. Again, the iPhone is awesome, truly. I just prefer the Android experience, which is awesome in other ways (I don't know if I would want to live w/out Tasker).

I've also never had a virus, because I know how to use and protect my computer. For free.

I used PCs for years, but the Iphone is what got me to switch to Mac. Ironic, since I now have an Android phone, but for computing, I can never go back to PC. For me, it's not just about the look, it's more about the feel. There's a feeling of seamless interaction between user and computer that I get when using a Mac that is definitely not there with a PC. You're right, however, it's a personal thing and it's just good that each person has a choice.

Yep, the Apple experience is very smooth. One in the win column there, for sure.

How are you guys converting your RAW files to satisfy the size requirements for this thread?

I'd like to post some of my 1DX pics, but they look like hell after I downsize them, change resolution and convert to JPEG.

The shots are razor sharp to begin with, but after i convert in DPP or CS5 they just look bad.

Suggestions???

I can speak for the shots I've posted in the 5D3 thread and my first question would be to ask how you're uploading them? I use Imageshack and when you upload, it will resize to whatever size you tell it to, for this site I use 1024x768 and the photos always look fine. I also export from LR a Jpeg that's half the size of the original if I know I'll be posting it online.

I downsize to 800 wide or 600 high for portrait and then resharpen the resulting file until it looks close to the original in sharpness terms. Don't expect the same same quality as the original though.

I usually do the same steps (depending on the subject I also use 1024 wide)
It works OK

My tip is to learn how to downsize the image and sharpen for web. ;)

I have 3 & 4 .... just never spent much time with them. Like I said though ... that will change. ;)

Get on it! LR 4 for basic edits and PS for localized adjustments.

So you're saying that they're basically shooting a 3fps 18MP video of the game...
Impressive! :)

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

Correct. Picture styles has no affect on images when shooting RAW.

This is such a shame! You are completely incorrect!

Don't any of you guys pay attention to what your doing? Don't any of you learn how to use your camera to the fullest, if not then why on Earth did you pay $7k on a camera? I only shoot in RAW. I have been shooting RAW from the start. I do many many events and on-set movie photography. Picture Styles are such a blessing for people that are very very busy. The whole point of RAW is that you can change the exposure, saturation, contrast, sharpness, etc... If picture styles where not applied to RAW files, then it would be deactivated on the camera. But that is not the case. Picture styles are for an effective work flow. Anytime you upload your RAW files to Lightroom, Photoshop, or DPP, the picture styles are applied and showing up, you can change which profile, say standard, portrait, landscape, monochrome, etc... Apparently so many people never pay attention to this, and don't realize that it in FACT does carry over with the RAW file, the entire point of a RAW file. I upload all my photos from an event, I make any necessary adjustments I need, but they are still in the picture style I created to my liking so that I don't have much work to do. It's a blessing cause it cuts down on so much post work.

Perhaps it was my mistake for joining this thread. I have read and read over the years statements like this by so many persons, but they have always been wrong and the ones reading it don't know this and are learning the wrong info. It's very frustrating just how many posts and reviews online in photography are done wrong, saying incorrect things, or even comparing things that are completely not related.

The best way to test this is to shoot a RAW file in monochrome, upload it to Photoshop or Lightroom or DPP, you will see that it shows up in b/w, that is a picture style carried over.

Easy there fella. I've been shooting for a long time and I've never seen any affect with picture styles when uploading RAWs. When you change picture styles in LR it changes the color output. That's it. It's not done in camera and the only thing you're viewing is the embedded jpeg. If you think you're right. Fine! Lol!

Your incorrect... the affect is applied, despite being able to change it later. If your using PS you have set PS to a pre-set Adobe profile. But for people to say picture styles are not applied are wrong.
