I upgraded to 2.11.4 which i found is the latest version so far..... and i updated the firmware on the camera.

If you are using Mountain Lion on Mac, this version is reported to be non compatible until Canon release a newer version in October.

I think there are a lot of differences, looking at the Bike shots I took, good keeper rate, and the tracking lock where once it is locked it did stay locked even if a bike came in front of the bike I was locked on.

DR is certainly improved,
Detail in the shadows and highlights are easier to bring out, retaining good detail.
I think the IQ is better too, zooming into 200 and 300% using my 100-400 lens seems less pixualating.
I find most of my web images actually look worse than the original size image due to compressing so much detail down to 1024px, (rather like the 5DMK3) I have had to actually blur some of my web images to stop the tight compression of pixals.

The images are seem sharper as well, especially on primes.
View Finder is brighter and larger.
The other huge improvement is low light focus lock, that is night and day over the 1D4, even better than the greatly improved 5DMK3
Just loads of little things you do not really notice at first.

Another big one too, for People who really want ultra sharp images is AF adjustment for Tele lenses is adjustable at WA and Tele, I have not played with it yet, but will do.

I did notice that shots seem to be a little under exposed on really dull overcast scenes, but I am not sure if that was me using the wrong metering, I never really tried any others, but as I said there is so much you can do with the raw images out of this camera the amount of detail you are capturing is huge.

As for the Price, well actually for me I paid nearly under £1000.00 UK price so it was a bargain in my books.

Ya thats what I've gathered so far.... going to be a long wait until october.... Im still trying to find the best way to cure the over powering yellow from street lights. So tonight after work I took my chop out to give it another shot. I used the white balance correction setting and it helped... but I think i just need to get better at LR.

In DPP or LR4, just grab the WB eyedropper and click that big power panel box on the wall (it's grey). You can see if that works better than a tire or some other grey/black/white item. Then you have your color temp.

This may interest people who were disappointed over the ability to focus at F8

I took the liberty to edit your picture (please let me know if you don't want the image edited and I'll take it down). This is what I managed with your Jpeg. it can be improved further with the original RAW file.
To the Post processing police out there... please note, this is a quick and dirty job to illustrate what can be done with little effort.

Sounds like you need a White Balance Card.

I use the custom white balance, it's really good. The 1DX also has 5 memory setting for Custom WB so you can store the places where you return; quite a handy feature I thought.
