Difference being, the 5D3 thread has entire pages with nothing but photos, many pages in fact.

Maybe a new thread should be started "Only Photos produced by the 1DX"

What did you do? I dont mind people editing my images.... Im a noob and need all and any help i can get.... do I just need to push the white balance more towards the blue side? i joke that I have a pro budget, but amateur results LOL

When i edit my pics... i tend to stay towards "realistic" is the best term i can describe.... I do like how youve eliminated the intense yellow, but the lights are still white.

Here is a quick and dirty attempt again.... using the jpg because the raws are at home.... that eye dropper tricked helped alot! Thanks for the tip whoever gave that to me.

Once you get it neutral, then you can add your tone to it to your preference. Start tweaking the three RGB sliders or the temp slider to add some warmth or coloring as you wish. You can also lower saturation a bit (slider) and see what you think of the look. Increasing clarity in this shot might add some edge too.

Check out the LR4 tutorial videos on Adobe's site. They will save you HOURS of work by tuning your workflow and eliminating steps you don't care for.

Scuff interesting regarding the 600 EX, I have never been happy with the flash system 580 and Canon bodies i owned, always blamed myself though.

This shot (posted elsewhere) is a case in point. The flash exposure was nailed automatically first time using FEL and ETTL . We did some shots with a 1Ds3 and 580exII at the same time. It took much more experimentation and tweaking to get a halfway decent result.

I really think that this 1Dx/600ex-rt combo is much better.

First, that's a great shot.

Second, I'm so glad you said what you did so now I know it's not only me having problems with flash.

Again, to each his own. After shooting with 1D bodies for so long, I can't go back to the smaller body. And gripped bodies aren't the same.

The 1DX (and previous 1D bodies) have silent shutter mode.

Since these stones are very close to 18% grey, if you meter the flash off of these stones, the ETTL with FEL should give you an accurate flash exposure. I am surprised that 1Ds M3 + 580EXII could not deliver?

It did. But it took more effort on my part to get the balanced exposure. The 1dx metering with flash is much more accurate and consistent.
