It was taken at the Conowingo Hydroelectric dam in Maryland. If you've never been there, you have to go.

Cool, thanks for the info. Perhaps when I visit the NE again, I'll have the chance to go. The second shot is nice, as well.

Nice page of shots here, all. :)

Anyone have fun shootin' this weekend? We were in Daytona, meeting up with some friends that flew in from Canada...so, naturally, we went to the beach...and had a nice day, overall. :)

1Dx, 200 f2.8L II, @5.6, 1/500th, ISO 100. Some levels adjustments, since it was a rather foggy day...and some sharpening, that's really about it. This is a FF shot...not cropped.
While I love the images this lens produces, I just never use it very much, so, it's been sold as of today. Not really sure if I'll replace it, or what I'll replace it with, but, it's all good. ;)

Does anyone know of a codec that I can download so that I can view 1dx raw files with Windows 7?

I am currently on holidays in Hawaii and I bought a laptop over with me so that I can upload the day's photos to the laptop everynight so that I always have fresh CF cards for the next day. The only problem is I cant view any of the raw files on the laptop as Windows 7 doesnt yet recognise ones taken with the 1dx.

There's one here, but, it's kinda the same as using DPP since you have to open the files in it to see them.

Yes to both, but it is a pain viewing them in DPP....In fact, it is a pain viewing them on a laptop at all, but it would be heaps easier if I could just scroll through them with a program similar to Image Viewer....I dont plan on doing any editing until I get back home where I can use the desktop I-Mac......

Don't know if you have an iPad with you, but if you copy your pics to your iPad you can see them ;-)a

Thanks, but I went to the Microsoft site before asking the question here. Unfortunately their codec downlods don't include the 1dx.

I have ended up downloading and installing the faststone program as recommended in this thread by someone else.....

Yeah I know. The 1DX isn't in the list but it is working
I downloaded it and it works fine for me (running Windows 7, 64bit)

I can't always get the Exif data to show on a Macbook Pro other than on the first image in a web page (using Jeffrey's Exif Viewer in Safari) ... does anyone have any successful programs or methods of doing this? If I copy an image to a new web page, Safari simply quits, which is likely a glitch in my setup, but I'd love to know of a better way of getting that info from an image in the middle of a web page. Thanks
