If you feel that half a stop in high ISO performance is worth it to you then by all means.
I have a D4 coming in from NPS and I can't wait to compare my results between the two.

I wouldn't even bother taking the D4 out of its box. https://www.flickr.com/photos/jackhenriques/

I hadn't had the camera out of the bag since the event last Saturday night. Still had the 24-70 on it, and I put the 580EX II on it and started shooting around my house. Everything was exposed properly. I was shooting at 24mm, 50mm, and 70mm. I used bounce and direct flash. I tried ETTL average mode, and I played with the auto flash-metering mode. The results were consistent and exposing properly and really left me scratching my head about what was going on last Saturday night! Apparently it just wanted to be home and was acting up like a spoiled brat! Cameras: 1DX, 1D4, 20D, 10D, S90, G2

When shooting action sports with over 100 different entrants the ability to attach a .wav file at the end of a series of shots makes any 1D preferable over any 5D series.

Sometimes reflective panels (mirror/glass/aluminum, etc) can cause the flash output to act up.
