Chris, people are not being negative, they are making open comparisons and using the information in this thread to do so.

What brings non-1DX owners and those with no interest in the 1DX into the 1DX owners thread with comments? Just curious. Are the negative viewpoints on the merits of the 1DX simply serving to justify their ownership of other Canon bodies? It's as if an atheist or an agnostic went to church, sat in the rear of the church, and then starting arguing theology or religion with the priest. The atheist/agnostic would have no real interest in religion and could probably argue against organized religion, but why be there in the first place?

I venture in here to see some pics and I'm also amazed that a large portion of the comments are from people who say they are not getting the camera and listing the reason's why they won't. Let them start their own thread about why the dislike the camera and allow this one to be about the camera

Speaking for myselft, a non 1DX owner, I'm am really interested in and excited about the camera. I want to learn more about it, enjoy the imagery from it, and perhaps even consider upgrading to it. Like you said, this is the best camera Canon makes...that makes it inherently exciting. I hope my posting here is not a problem! :D

Exactly! I still have mine on order and want to be sure that I made an educated decision. Is there anything wrong with that? Money is not the issue. :)

This is my point. Thank you.

I think most of the 5DIII buyers are insecure about their purchase that's all and they just
come to this threat to tell people why they made the right choice and other should too.

I bet if money is not the problem, most would buy the 1DX in a sec.

By the way comparing the 5DIII and 1DX is fine but go to the threats that already exist instead of doing it here. And people who own the 5DIII that feel their is better than the 1DX should just go out and take pics and post it on the 5DIII threat.

peace

Why should people have to justify their purchase to anyone? Be it the 1Dx, the 5D Mk III or the lowest priced Rebel!

If they want a certain body, for whatever reason(s), that's THEIR decision, and respect it. Let them enjoy it!

As others have pointed out, this thread is about the 1Dx, and the photos it produces. It shouldn't be about what it's NOT, or what other cameras are in comparison, and whether or not any price difference is justified when compared to any other camera body.

Now let's see some pics!!

I'm especially interested in seeing some Nature/Wildlife pics, landscape shots...with colors, vibrancy, and sharpness matching, and even surpassing some of the incredible images posted by BenJacobsen1 in the 5D3 photos thread, as well as images shot by Julian (jdizzle) and others. (Just for reference sake for the type of sharp, bold, brilliant, vibrant, rich, saturated, and colorful images I myself prefer).

Portraits as clear, sharp, and as lifelike as Phamster used to post.

Show us the best at what this camera can offer and produce!

I personally am not interested in high ISO comparison tests, or what have you since it would be extremely rare that I would ever need, or care to use extremely high ISO's. But for others, that's great!

Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever! ;)

Not so much the money as will it be 3 months, 6, 8, 12 or how many before I can buy one?

None of the companies who sell them can tell you. Canon won't even confirm to them when & how many they will be getting.

Great for Canon as the price stays high but not for anyone else wanting one.

Well I don't own a 1DX but I take an interest in this thread as it's a possible future purchase. I imagine a lot of people will be the same way inclined.

Finally, I just got the tracking number for my 1Dx and I should have it in my hot little hands on Monday. This has been quite a wait and honestly think Canon could have done a better job of this release.

I couldn't agree more. Some people are just naysayers.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Is that like green box mode? Trying to find it in the manual.

Again, to each his own. After shooting with 1D bodies for so long, I can't go back to the smaller body. And gripped bodies aren't the same.

The 1DX (and previous 1D bodies) have silent shutter mode.

But the 5D3's silent continuous is much quieter. And the 1DX only has silent single shot. Here's a comparison video shot by FM'er Stan Jirman (http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1130471 (external link) )
