New firmware downloaded but no camera to install it on....

It's at canon being fixed... :(

That's a bummer. What is wrong with it? And how many clicks had it done?

If it's at Canon, then chances are, it'll come back with it installed. :D

Not sure how many clicks, but 11 months old.

Went in over the summer to have the lubrication issue sorted and came back with the electronic level not calibrated properly.

Also front focusing pretty badly in AI servo mode with my new 70-200 2.8 II (I started another thread about that - https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1352086). Might be a lens or camera/lens calibration issue, but I'm really hoping it's a problem with the camera as it's under warranty and the lens isn't!

I miss my baby....

Thanks mate me too. I phoned canon to see how they were getting on, and asked that the engineer phone me to discuss the focus issue when he got to looking at it. They said he would. I never got a call, but got an automated email after they closed today to say my repair was complete and the camera was being sent back. Hope it's fixed. At least that means they're not charging me anything I presume!

How to cool off Hawaiian style. Considering how hot it is here in Perth today (46 Celcius / 115 Farenheit), I would give anything to be back here right now...

That's typical for Canon Elstree. No discussion, you'll just get your gear back with a very brief note as to what's been done.
