He's not looked at the problem properly yet, but said he's had an initial look and is positive there is no problem with the lens, and the camera is at fault. Said he thinks the outer focus points are not calibrated properly. I told him I've also been having issues with the centre point, and the problem didn't seem to occur (anywhere near as badly at least) with another 70-200 2.8. Still missing my camera....
