My first go around with my 1Dx. I'm really liking it so far.

I was assigned to cover this weekend's SPARTAN RACE (link) (external link) kids' events. Gotta tell ya, such awesome AF system sure can be a problem sometimes.

Did you try facial recognition tracking using Zone AF?

Or I guess try AI Servo using spot AF?

A candid pic of our friend's son Brooklyn taken at the lake during our Australia Day celebrations.

It was a sunny day and Brooklyn was putting on some sunscreen by himself so he could go out in the boat.

The all white background is simply due to him standing in front of his dad's white 4wd, but it works well for the photo

The engineer called me today. He's not looked at the problem properly yet, but said he's had an initial look and is positive there is no problem with the lens, and the camera is at fault. Said he thinks the outer focus points are not calibrated properly. I told him I've also been having issues with the centre point, and the problem didn't seem to occur (anywhere near as badly at least) with another 70-200 2.8.

Still missing my camera....

Apparently my 1DX is fixed and thoroughly tested and is coming back to me tomorrow.

They said the distance between the lens mount and the sensor was wrong and has now been sorted... I'm nervous.. I'm worried it will still have the issue when it comes back...

Thanks mate. I think if it still isn't working properly I will have grounds to ask for a replacement rather than a 4th trip back to canon...
