Here is a shot from last night's Georgia Force Arena Football game. This is shot at ISO 8000. The original full sized picture is here (external link). Lens was 135F2, lighting was only spotlights, no flash. I was really happy with the focus tracking.

WOW.. pretty girl!!! (insert wolf whistle here).. ISO 8000 looking sweet!!!
Having owned previous 1D bodies I find focus tracking on the 1Dx nothing short of spectacular!

Thank you guys for the kind comments. Two more from RIAT 2012

First image I've seen that really "sells" the camera...

Not to take anything form this wonderful image but, if this is the first one you see that "sells" the camera, you are obviously not looking hard enough! Plenty out there mate! ;)

I disagree (and not just because I do have images here). There are some very nice shots from other people that do "Sell" the camera. Horses for courses I suppose ;-)a

I think he was probably referring to the subject of the photo and not necessarily the quality of the image. Either way, great shot and great example for the camera.

Quite the opposite actually...

Very high-energy action in a tough exposure situation at high ISO in the real world .. Nailed

What's so hard to understand?

Not quite, is a nice image for sure but, he missed critical focus ( on the eye to be exact) also, everyone else has posted "real world" images. One of them is a 1/60th sec back lighted exposure handholding a 600mm lens. The image is pin sharp, and perfectly exposed. I guess that's not enough technique for you. Now, that 1/60th sec image happens to be mine but, that's besides the point. I would have highlighted it no mater who took it!. Again horses for courses. ;-)a

I have no MFA enabled for any of my lenses. I will get back to you once I find a lens that needs it. Not much help for now, I know but, I will get back to you if I find the same bug with my camera.

Viffer, Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna try the 500 on my 1D MK4 to see if it's the camera of the lens. I'll keep you posted. It's either a bug with DPP software or the 1DX.

Or did he miss focus? Seems to be precisely on her rear. Maybe that was the goal. I'm kidding, of course. And I was kidding about Jay referring to the subject as well. Just trying to keep it light in here. I do think it's a great shot. It's also a good example of what the body can do in the real world. Viffer, your shots are great as well. I don't think anyone was taking anything away from you.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings...

Your airshow stuff is very good but a 7D, MkIII or MkIV could have done just as well.

"Hand Held 600mm at 1/60" means nothing in regards to the camera being used.
