Just discovering and trying new Photoshop CC settings with very High ISO ..
So some new test with 3 dogs at 25600 iso .... 300L2,8+TC1,4XII at F8

All pictures best viewed in FullHD optimized size mode, by clicking once on pictures ..

IMAGE: http://photos.corbi.eu/Pets/2014-02-23-Portraits-Iwa-et/i-2QHWgfM/0/XL/ER8T0947%20V3-XL.jpg
IMAGE LINK: http://photos.corbi.eu …M/0/O/ER8T0947%20V3-O.jpg (external link)

Next at F5,6 .. but DOF is definitely inadequate.. for such tight portrait F8 was the most suitable.

IMAGE: http://photos.corbi.eu/Pets/2014-02-23-Portraits-Iwa-et/i-6gHwmR4/0/XL/ER8T0885%20V2-XL.jpg

Of course, if I could be at 3200 iso .. details would have been more convincing, but basically with permanently moving dogs, it's rather difficult to go less than 1/500 .. and we such proxy shooting DOF is too narrow at less than 6,3 .. so even with a sunshine like yesterday 25600 was the lowest ISO I could get with safe shooting.
So results are better with Photoshop CC than I never had with CS6 or CS5, far from perfect, but still convincing.

Which software Jack?

Photoshop CS6 - it's pretty much the same filter as pixelbender for earlier versions of PS...

Hi Marc,

I love your Leonberger shots.
Could you please explain your processing steps to get such a clean image from ISO 25600?
It's funny - I also have a 1DX and Photoshop CC - as well as a Leonberger! Gentle giant.

^ Well taken news shots. I hope no one was hurt.

I just got my 1Dx back from Canon yesterday after it was sent in for a sensor clean. It's much better now so f/11 and narrower are again useable. Saying that, the shot below which I took yesterday was at f/8, using my 300mm f/2.8 IS II + 1.4x TC III:

Well done, correct depth of field.

Thanks, f/8 chosen to get the line of Geese in focus but blur the BG and FG.

Whilst on the subject of DoF, this was taken with my 1Dx + 85mm @ f/1.2:

^ Awesome. I hope to get a chance to capture some of the crossovers at Miramar this year. (though Miramar lighting is typically ugly).
