Mine is at Canon for the third time for soft focus issues. Maybe it will be third time lucky.

Gutted. I feel your pain. Mine also went back to Canon 3 times...

Very excellent pics.

QUESTION for you guys/gals:

I'm playing around in the menu system of my 1Dx and there are a few (okay, many) things I just don't understand. Nothing new. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. One thing I was just changing but don't see a difference in the viewfinder is:

AF point display during focus:

I think I get the fist two, selected (constant) and All (constant).

But I'm not understanding what Selected (pre-AF, Focused) is and Selected (focused).

And is there a difference in those settings when using one shot or AIServo?

Please dumb down your explanation, and I really mean that.

Sometimes I just don't grasp these things. I used the info button to describe what it is and I don't understand it at all.

Thanks.
Mark

Selected (constant) displays the autofocus points you are using.

All (constant)displays all 61 autofocus points.(What I use)

Selected (pre- AF, focused) displays the autofocus points all the time except when you are autofocusing, but when the focus locks on it will display the af points.

Selected (focused) displays the af points when you are selecting what af point to use and only displays the af point when focus is locked on. (If the camera is still trying to lock onto a point the af points will not be displayed until the af is locked on.)

OFF: disable display only shows the af points when you are selecting which one to use.

I like that you were able to use a hair light on the lion without getting eaten alive!

The photos in this thread aren't really impressing me. I've seen more artistic stuff in the 6D, 5D, and other lower end body threads. I'm perplexed..

Beautiful shot. But it's somewhat flat. Where's the color!
It's not to be an insulting comment. Just an observation.
