hey guys... have any of you send your 1dx's to get cleaned and checked? It's end of year and i wanna get this done, since i purchased this camera form a private seller, not sure the history of the camera.

I sent mine in to Canon CPS to get cleaned and checked out. I bought it used with an about 7500 shutter count. My backup 1D3 gets sent in about once ever 12 - 18 months for the same.

In mho its money well spent.

Canon 1DX II, 1DX, 11-24 F4 L, 100 F2.8 L, 16-35 F2.8 L II, 17-40 F4 L, 24-70 F2.8 L II, 24-105 F4 L II, 70-200 F2.8 L II

I didn't send mine to get cleaned or checked because we have mostly bad experience here, i bought mine from a great market brand new at very nice price and no issues yet, so i am not thinking to send it for that.

Also i bought A7R this year so it made me to use 1DX even less, and maybe if i buy 7DII or another body then the chances are that 1DX will be used about 40-50%, so it will be less issues as well.

I want members here to quote about how long it takes for them when sending theirs to service and how much it costs them, because if i travel one day to there i may try overseas services than our local service.

my 10 month old english creme golden retriever. great family dog. my 9 yr old has taught him how to play football. my son goes for a pass and the dog will chase him and try to defend the pass - jumping up and knocking the ball down and running with it...

I am 'on the brink' but still going around in circles whether 'I' would really notice the difference compared to my mkiv. It's a big hunk of cash to put on my credit card after all.
Be VERY interested to hear from any of you that made the same swap. Thanks

I made this jump. My 1D4 had over 200K shots on it but still worked great. But to be honest, I wanted the 1DX for the better ergo feel and better display screen. I kept my backup rig, 1D3 and still love it.

Is the jump from a 1D4 worth it? Other than feel and display quality is hard to notice the improvement just off hand. Yeah the 1DX has better high ISO. But when the hell do we ever need to shoot in the crazy range that it can go up to? I've never had a paying gig where I needed above 3200 ISO. And if you go with this body get bigger CF cards. The RAW files out of this thing are around or over 20 meg! I have 2 64 gig scandisk CF cards in mine. Shot a wedding a few weeks ago and had 600+ images on them with no issues. The image quality is outstanding.

The feel of the body is much better. The menu system and level of customization is much better. I'm glad that I made the switch but I didn't pay full retail. I bought one slightly used and saved a 1000 bucks.

Now I do like the full frame sensor. It makes my 16-35 2.8 come alive at the wide range.

I know that I'm rambling but bottom line is that I love my 1DX!

Canon 1DX II, 1DX, 11-24 F4 L, 100 F2.8 L, 16-35 F2.8 L II, 17-40 F4 L, 24-70 F2.8 L II, 24-105 F4 L II, 70-200 F2.8 L II

I didn't make any jump, but the last Canon body i have before 1DX was 1Ds3 and i bought 1D3 even before that for sports, and i was planning to upgrade from 1D3 to 1D4 but situations didn't allow me to get 1D4 until it is gone as brand new, then i bought 1DX, and WOW, this body made it like it is a big jump, i may not see that jump from 1D4 to 1DX, but from 1D3 to 1DX it is quit a jump for me and i don't use 1D3 at all even as a backup.
