This must be why I'm clueless to Mac users & Raw files. I only use CS5. This will soon change I guess.

LR is a much better organizer for RAW files. I'm surprised you don't use it. :)

I use CS5 (PC) and it was updated a while back to support 5D3/1Dx CR2s.

I have to believe they updated the Mac version as well, although I've been wrong before... :)

Hmm, thanks for the link guys to the Supported by Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.13

I ran into some problems with the update though and wanted to share.

Apparently to successfully run this update 1 of 2 programs MUST be installed on your computer.

Aperture 3

or

Iphoto 11 or whatever version it is that they NEED me to have installed.

Okay. While I understand the push from Apple for me to use their image softwares, guess what. I DON'T.

I'm plenty content with my workflow that DOES NOT include aperture or iphoto.

Please allow me to do this update so I can at least see thumbnails in finder.

Anyone else run into this problem with the update?

I've tried update installer for v 3.13 and 3.14

Is this where I'm supposed to say that if you want to completely control your environment, Apple might not be the right choice? ;)

Probably:p but...

"On the Rob Galbraith forum there is a story about how the Sports Illustrated photographers shoot the US pro football Super Bowl.
They shoot RAW+JPEG, using the JPEG to edit quickly, and then they process the RAW of selected shots for publication.
Each of their photographers turns in about 11,000 exposures of the game."
---------------

And from this article by S.I. staff photographer Peter Read Miller:

http://www.sportsshooter.com/news/2371 (external link)

"I shoot RAW only so I pretty much ignore many of the settings that pertain to image quality for JPEGs."

---------------

But I guess it's still Bash Canonswhitelensesrule time on P.O.T.N.

True, only because I worked on them daily, and decided that I prefer the PC experience. I think Macs are great, really, I just prefer PCs. Clearly there are differences, and you surely realize that not all of them go into the "win" column for Mac. For many of the same reasons, I prefer my Android to my wife's iPhone. Again, the iPhone is awesome, truly. I just prefer the Android experience, which is awesome in other ways (I don't know if I would want to live w/out Tasker).

I've also never had a virus, because I know how to use and protect my computer. For free.
