Do Canon allow their DPP software, (from the disc provided) to be run on two computers simultaneously?

I was concerned that should I load it on both computers. I would be prevented from downloading updates at a later date.

Since the software is free I doubt there are any restrictions on its use. The EULA says:

You are permitted to: (1) use the Software ("use" shall mean storing, loading, installing, executing or displaying the software) on your multiple computers, such as workstations, terminals or other devices for your own personal use;

No mention or prohibition of simultaneous use.
Moreover, unlike Adobe software, DPP is not capable of connecting to the internet, so how would Canon know?

Thanks for your prompt reply. I shall give it a try and see what happens.

You could install and use it on a thousand computers, there is no 'activation' or such-like associated with this software.

I currently run the latest version of DPP on one desktop and three laptops at the same time ... although I never run them all at once; since I got a copy with each body I bought, I figure i can run it at least that many times (5DMkII, 7D, 50D, and s90). In reality you can install it and run it as many times as you need to ...
