Those are nothing more than rumors... All speculation with no real facts to back up the assertions. We will know about the connector when Apple discloses the device.

Well if the rumors are true and they do chip the port as some speculate it's going to sting like hell for iPhone users. One thing we do know is that Apple and others will go to any extreme to find a way to try and force us to buy overpriced accessories.
