Did a trail run to Lake Blanche....well it's steep so sometimes it was only a brisk walk :-) The trail head is in Big Cottonwood Canyon out of Salt Lake. It was about a 3.2 miles to the lake. The start is at about 6150 feet, the lake is at 8920 feet.

From the lake you can walk up on the big rock slabs to overlook the valley, it also leads to 2 other lakes just below this one.

The sunset colors in these were caused by smoke from a fire in the valley.

Thanks for sharing this pristine little lake. You did a nice job capturing its serenity. KUDOS.

Really love the first one. Not sure I like the processing though. I assume these are HDRs?

Thanks Ando and Paul. Here is another that is not HDR (although I increased the shadows in Lightroom) I think I like this one better. What do you think?

The last is great because of the great interest in the water.

I like this better than the (HDR) first one.
