Display malfunction

A couple of times I've experienced that the display on my G3 doesn't work.

I've tried pressing the "display"-button but without effect. The problem occurs in shooting mode as well as the review mode. In order to make the display work again I have to charge the battery.

What's strange is that the battery indicator on the top says that the battery is fully charged, and the display does not show a low battery warning before it blacks out.

Does anyone have similar experiences? Any ideas what to do?

If the problem persists I'll just have to return the camera.

One thing is sure: when the G3 gives warning that battery will get exhausted, it is already too late. This warning comes after the last moment. So if the only problem is that sometimes the LCD goes out before that warning - it is not too surprising at all, and this is not the fault of the LCD. With my G3 I can make only one or two shots after the battery-warning. Of course it is not normal if you never have a battery-warning because the LCD goes out before. But if it happens sometimes - it's no-brainer, I think.
