I just purchased a XT kit off a member here. I havnt recived it yet. I was wondering though I have this Tamron lens from my old Canon 650 35mm SLR
It is a Tamron AF 70-300mmf4-5.6..it is not a new Lens its about 10years old. But its in good shape. Is this a good lens to have

Below is a link to some photos I took at the Bronx Zoo NY with a Dig Rebel 6.3 & Tamrom 70-300 4 - 5.6 (Tiger was through glass and the Lion was hand held).

As long as your lenses are free from mould or scratches then you should be alright. You can save up for better glass (like me) if and when you feel that the pics you are getting are not up to your expectations. Just don't catch L fever... it can hurt the pocket badly ;-)a

At the end of the day, it's not what you have, it's what you do with it.

Cheers!

Cheers!

John;)

there is not a scratch or anything on the lens at all. They where always kept in his leather camera bag with the caps on at all times. Except for just a few scratchs on the body of the lens wich is kinda hard not to do. the glass is flawless. I just sat here and cleaned them all really well

if the lens works keep it and use it unless you need other features/focal lengths.

The 70-300 is a great lens for the money and it has the Macro feature which is a nice addition for doing flowers and the such. Mine is dying and I wonder what I will buy next....
