I have a Rebel T3 after a hard weekend of shooting. I was at a hotair balloon festavel. My two lenes were ok. I have a 18 -55 came as part of the kit . I also have a 55-250 zoom. Switching lenes was a pain. Now to the point. Do I need a Lens for in between the two or another body. I plan on doing similar type of shooting again.

It depends on your funds.

Did you find yourself using past 135mm?
18-135 gives you more range then the 18-55 but less range then the 55-250.

You can always use another body if you can pick one up but it's really up to you.

Something else you can look into is a messenger style bag and keep one lens in there without any of the caps and just switch quickly still have protection from the flap of the bag over the lens.

Not sure why you were having trouble changing lenses... but I use two (or more) cameras when I have to switch quickly. That's what I'd do, if shooting on the ground at the balloon festival.

If riding in a balloon, basket space is often tight and might only be able to use a single camera. It might be one of those rare occasions when a wide range zoom (18-200, 18-270) would be more desirable.

But my most used lenses at balloon events are wide angles. A lot of the time I'd be using my Tokina 12-24 on a crop camera (like yours), for sure.

you can get one lens that covers that focal range but it would be as sharp as the 18-55IS and 55-250IS combination.

The 18-200 is sharper than the 18-55 almost everywhere except wide-open at 18 mm. It has better CA performance as well. (Based on DPReview measurements/report). I don't have a direct comparison in the 55-200 range, Lenstips has measurements but with 2 different sensors.

Of course, keep in mind that 18-200 covers the whole range in focal length but in price as well... Actually it is more expensive than the two put together...

That's what superzooms were made for. To cover a very wide range. Accepting the sacrifices of they make is part of the package. But better to have one than be frustrated swapping lenses constantly.
