I already have the 1.8 and love it. Why did I order the 1.4 then, You folks have said it... Build quality and I love the full time manual focus capability. malla1962 Cream of the Crop  7,714 posts Likes: 5 Joined Jul 2004 Location: Walney Island,cumbria,uk More info | I have never used the 1.4 But I had the 1.8 for 3 weeks it did nothing for me.If Irealy needed a 50 prime I would go for the 1.4 the 1.8 is not that good at 1.8 I allso think the AF is hit and miss but like most will agree you cant beat it for THE MONEY.im sure if they cost $300 people would say they were junk.
