I actually saw one this weekend, and got a couple of shots of him in the shade, but this was my actual first chance to really shoot one. As someone said in another thread, they can be skiddish or not really care that you are there. This guy was of the latter group, as he let me inch up to within 30 feet or so.
I'm still learning. What I'll take from this one is that I could have used a smaller aperture for greater depth of field, so that his back would have been in better focus.
