Can you suggest anything?
I see there is something like GGS Optical screen protector. Is this any good? What would you suggest?

THANKS!

GGS is the best, no doubt. It is glass, not plastic film. You get no air bubbles and a perfect fit.

I never even notice it is on there... Had one for my 7D, then 5D2 and now 5D3. Highly recommend it.

Note, people will say how you don't need one and they are a waste, etc... But the 5D3 has a newer style LCD cover that is not easily changed. The LCD cover (actual part exposed) is adhered to the LCD itself with a special solution that removes the air gap to reduce glare. From what I heard, they replace the entire LCD assembly if you want the cover replaced. The 5D2 and older bodies just had a plastic cover you can easily swap out with a suction cup. This is why I got the cover for the 5D3... Plus, I like to care less when I throw it in my bag if a zipper hits it and such. Can easily replace the cover.

I personally don't like anything on my screen. If my screen cover gets too scratched, I would rather just replace the part. It can be removed using a suction cup.

I bought a 1DIV at the end of last summer, took it out for it's first job and got quite a hefty scratch within an hour of use on the LCD! Took it back to Calumet thinking that you could remove and replace the screen for a reasonable price, but apparently Canon have changed assembly and to replace would have been quite expensive as it would require new back plate etc, 5d3 and 1dx would I imagine be similar. So screen protector seems a decent idea to me

+1 for GGS - $8.50 is cheap insurance, the fit is so good that you soon forget it's there

Yours, maybe, but the OP asked about a 5D3 which doesn't have the cheap replaceable cover.

The GGS is glass and has really good optics. It's like you are looking at the original screen, not a cover.

I would suggest not pressing too hard when installing the top LCD cover. If you do, you might get the line from the glass pressing too hard on the LCD panel. I even lifted mine up slightly on the right front corner since the top LCD on the 5D3 is curved down.

I got my GGS from eBay from a seller in China for like $8 USD... It only took something like five days to get to me in Ohio. Came with rear and top LCD cover. Can't beat that.
