Showed a preview 2 weeks ago from this shoot, it was the model's choice in post... overall most disliked it.

Finally finished editing... all 5d2 / 100mm f/2, AB800 camera left with a beauty dish. Post in LR3.

Something about this type of b&w conversion is really appealing to me for this photo. The background is pure white w/ 2 ab800's, over-exposed by 1.5 stops, so it is pure white.

Same white background, no strobes, vignetting is caused by the beauty dish, color shift from post production.

The B&W preset for this is called lavender and I think it works really well here.

really dont like processing in the last four. the first works becuase its clean. the last look unfinished. and i dont like the lighting in those either its very harsh.

also the tones seem off, almost like a severe s-curve was used, the midtones are all washed out. and female portraits could always use some skin smoothing, IMO, but it may not be the look you were after.

Thanks for the feedback Mike

It's interesting you don't like the lighting in the last 4, it's identical to the first photo, with the exception of the background lights being turned off.

Skin smoothing was done, it may not be very apparent due to the web compression, for which I apologize, but it was done (OnOne in PS CS3)

the first one looks good because it looks finished, the others dont, which highlight the lighting. the skin in the last for looks like it could use some help, you can see it in the shadows of her left cheek, especially in the last two. the imperfections are easily visible as it doesn't look smooth..

the colors in the 2nd and third look over saturated too, which is fine provided the skin doesn't start to look unnatural, which it does.
