Being in full manual, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to need to lock an exposure in, say lock in ISO at 1600 instead of moving over to a darker subject and it metering at ISO 3200. However, it would still make sense to be able to at least have the option.

Full manual with Auto ISO is no longer 'full manual'.

It is like Av or Tv with Auto ISO except you control 1 more of the exposure triangle yourself - its still a metered mode. Shame it doesnt have exposure compensation :(

Yes, perhaps next the firmware update, along with being able to microadjust at more than one point of a zoom lens. Canon - are you listening?

Only takes 5 minutes, why wait?

Tired. So tired. And don't really feel like it right now. I don't have any shots planned anytime soon so I don't really need it. She an wait until tomorrow :)

I got it downloaded before the masses so that's all I wanted. Now that I have it I can get it done anytime.

Maybe it is time to ease up on the caffeine. ;)

I suspect that a lot of 7D owners are a bit too hyper right now.

Me?? I'm so laid back that it never occurred to me to charge my batteries that are pretty low at the moment. Should I go for it anyway? I figure that I have at least an even chance of completing the update before the batteries die.

go for it..mine just finished and I had 2 bars left showing for my battery.

Not jumping on it instantly. I assume Canon worked out the kinks but both my cameras work perfectly. Don't want both to exhibit some random issue that gets a firmware update in 1 month. I'll grab it in a few weeks.

Mine start out with just 2 bars after charging. :) I suspect that they may be getting old.

If you haven't already, don't forget to download the newest version of the 7D manual pdf too. The new manual covers all the new features added by ver.2 firmware.
